Video Timecode Settings
Description
The Video Timecode
module can be used to send the timecode of any video played in the X-Creator to a specified server. The protocol used for sending the timecode information is Open Sound Control (OSC). The timecode is sent in seconds. So 62,345
means that the video position is 62 seconds and 345 milliseconds.
When the module is enabled the timecode button is added to the controls of video layers for sending the timecode.
Environment Configuration
Enable the Video Timecode module so it is available for the Environment.
X-Creator Configuration
Enable the Video Timecode module for one X-Creator in the Environment that should send the commands.
Server IP / Port
The IP address and port to send the timecode to
Address
The OSC address to send the timecode to
Send Interval
The interval in milliseconds for sending the timecode. Leave this at 0 to send as fast as possible (every application frame). In general this would be 60 times per second being an interval of around 16.6 milliseconds.
Tools
A practical tool for testing and troubleshooting the timecode functionality is the OSC Data Monitor. It can listen on any port and displays the received OSC message.
Additional Information
When activating the timecode for a video layer in the X-Creator the video is paused, the position is set to 0 and the first timecode message is sent. Further, looping the video is disabled. So if looping was enabled it will be disabled when activating the timecode.
An activated timecode for a video layer is not stored in the slide. If timecode has to be sent for a video this has to be activated manually every time the slide is loaded.
